Review: Dano’s Dangerous Tequila, Complete Lineup (Updated 2025)
Made at what is reportedly the second oldest tequila distillery in the world, the Dano’s Dangerous Tequila brand is based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and dates back to just 2018. While it started with its pineapple/jalapeno infused tequila (see below), it has since extended the brand to the standard trio of unflavored varieties. The operation produces only 100% blue agave spirits — though the location where the agave is grown is unclear.

Let’s dig in.
Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Blanco Review
Fresh with agave punchiness on the nose, but laced with fruity sweetness that evokes lemon and pineapple. The palate pours on the fruit and offers an overall quite engaging construction, with more pineapple, a sprinkle of baking spice, and a sweet cream character on the finish. There’s just a hint of white pepper on the very end of the conclusion. While this blanco is lovely straight, it’s even better as a mixer in your margarita or paloma. 80 proof. Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Reposado Review
Aged for a lengthy 9 months in virgin white oak barrels. The reposado has a surprisingly similar character as the blanco, again showing pineapple on the nose, filtered through vanilla and a clearer spice bill. There’s still ample, herbal agave, but it’s mild and well-integrated into the fruit, never heavy. The palate folds in some pepper and chile notes, with ample vanilla on the back end that helps to temper the heat. Easily likeable in any situation. 80 proof. Reviewed: Batch #L-37110818. Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Anejo Review
Aged between 12 and 18 months, again in virgin white oak. And again, there’s ample fruit up top, with a nose that pushes an agenda of pineapple and mango, with coconut notes becoming increasingly evident. More vanilla and chocolate notes appear on the nose, too. On the palate, the tequila presents about the same, heavy with tropical fruit notes, lots of coconut this time, and a vanilla-laced body that gives it ample, lingering sweetness. That coconut is heavy on the finish, with some charred wood notes lingering. 80 proof. Reviewed: Batch #L-38110818. A- / $54 [BUY IT NOW FROM FROOTBAT]
Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Pineapple & Jalapeno Review (2020)
Naturally flavored blanco tequila, with a clear sediment on the bottom — shake well! The nose is, as expected, absolutely bursting with notes of fresh pineapple juice — very sweet with a brown sugar undertone. There’s no “tequila” note on the nose at all, and the palate’s sweetness masks the agave almost completely. A bit saccharine and straightforward, the primary flavor elements are candied pineapple, with a current of coconut nectar. I got virtually no jalapeno heat at all here, strangely. 72 proof. Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Pineapple & Jalapeno Review (2025)
A fresh look at this infused tequila finds it now at 70 proof. The distinct note of canned pineapple juice notes make an instant appearance on the nose — far less sweet than I remember from the 2020 version. The tequila (still blanco) isn’t evident on the nose, as it’s effectively washed away by the fruit, while the palate does perk up some gentle greenery. Again, canned pineapple juice rules the day here, with light hints of lime zest coming along in time, followed by one final push of roasted agave to finish things out. Again, zero jalapeno in attendance. 70 proof. Reviewed: Batch #L-39580524. B / $40 [BUY IT NOW FROM FROOTBAT]
Dano’s Dangerous Tequila Coffee Reposado Review
Reviewed in 2025: Reposado tequila infused with fresh coffee beans — and plenty of sediment. (Again, shake well.) The coffee is light-handed here on both nose and palate — and they share duties fairly evenly. The nose evokes chocolate and tobacco elements alongside a thin vein of coffee, with just a vague hint of agave greenery. On the palate again there’s a weak coffee element that finds a pleasant enough companion in the form of Dano’s reposado tequila, the late game (vaguely) evoking tropical fruit, coconut nectar, and some sesame. Very lightly peppery on the finish. I pain to say it, but a little sweetener would make this go a lot further as a straight sipper; as it stands, it’s too dry for easy consumption, demanding a mixer. Not at all dangerous: It’s actually pretty harmless. 70 proof. Reviewed: Batch #L-40010527. B / $40
