What is your definition of moderate healthy drinking, especially as one ages and drinking takes a harder toll on your body and mind vs when young and resilient?

I know the definition can be varied, especially among different health departments of countries, but what is your personal take? For someone who wants to keep alcohol an option socially but not allow it to affect health, personal realaitonships, work etc.

I found it to be as I am getting older: never drinking alone, only socially; drinking maximum 3 units of alcohol in a day (be they three beers, glasses wine or mixed drinks); and only drinking 1-2 nights; which leads to last point of drinking for taste and socialization, never to intoxication or even a buzz.

Thoughts?
