What should I do with unopened vintage liqueur gift set from 1985?
A liqueur gift set was given to my in-laws as a wedding present back in 1985. Neither have ever been much into drinking alcohol. Combine that with the classic boomer tendency to keep everything. This means the gift remained unopened in its original purple velvet & plastic packaging for 40 years!
Knowing I like vintage items, my in-laws gifted this gold trimmed mystery to me recently. I have never heard of “Chambord”. I have no idea if 40-year old “Chambord” is still drinkable. I have no idea what to do with this 1980’s time capsule.
My spouse tells me we should just drink it. Being so pristine and having been my in-law’s wedding gift, I feel this time traveler deserves something more than just my spouse and I risking a taste on a random day.
Yet I neither want this to sit in our home collecting dust for another 40 years, or to be thrown away.
What in the world would you do with a 1985 Chambord liqueur gift set?
