Got drunk & kicked out of the bar

22F I posted something earlier but it was really long so here’s a kinda shorter version. Last night I was out on Broadway in Nashville and was wandering away from my friends in the bar, ran into a door I guess, was talking to all the bouncers just being drunk. One of the bouncers I was talking to told my friends to keep me with them but I had left my stuff upstairs and didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to leave my friends.

I was going to get my stuff and right as my friend caught up to me, a security guard pulled me aside and said I was going to be detained bc I didn’t have my ID on me. I was suuuuuper drunk but they wouldn’t let me get my stuff to prove I was of age and we all ended up leaving. (To clarify though, I was already drunk before coming to the bar and never ordered another drink at that bar) I was bawling ever since they told me I could get arrested and then my friends sent me back to the Airbnb in an uber.

I know shit happens and my friends still went out and had fun afterwards so I didn’t ruin the night but I’m so embarrassed. It doesn’t help that I was really grumpy the rest of the evening and into the morning but I was just really pissed that my evening ended the way it did. I just feel bad and some of the folks we were with are people who I’d love to get to know better and I feel like I left a terrible impression. Any advice/tips/horror stories of your own?
