How Long Do Rummy Gummies Last?

So my aunt gave me a jar of Swedish Fish and Lifesavers that she had soaked in rum for Christmas 2023, and I kind of forgot about them until now. They’ve been in a glass jar with a lid (like what you’d store pub mix or nuts in) and kept on the shelf ever since, and I don’t recall opening them in the past year at least. I figure the alcohol has acted like a preservative, but I want to be sure before I eat any. Do these kinds of things have an expiration date, or are they like alcohol and last (basically) forever on the shelf?
