Does beer taste better when you’re older?

I’m Jim, currently 16. I’ll have a beer at a party / gathering but most of the time if I’m being 100% it doesn’t taste good and I wouldn’t be drinking it if it didn’t contain alc. I would take a Fanta, lemonade, or coke over a beer anyway if it was just about the taste and not %.

Once I’ve had a couple drinks and feeling tipsy it tastes alright and that sort of discouraging after taste goes away but espiaclly the first beer just doesn’t taste nice.

Some light ones like corona (especially if there’s a lime to cover the flavour) taste nice, and a cold beer on a hot day tastes great. But… IPAs and other dark beers are horrible.

As I’m older will I start to enjoy them more? Because I know almost any university/college students are always drinking beer. And all Dads love a beer even if it’s alc free.

I’ve probably been having drinking beer for maybe a year or two. At a party I’ll have a couple bottles but will always prefer a fizzy drink /soda with a spirit.

Similarly on that topic – gin? How do people enjoy that, it’s tastes disgusting.

Anyway can someone explain how things like gin, beer, scotch, wine taste better as you get older.

Thanks,

Jim
