Why Does Vodka Make My Liver Hurt?

Not a request for medical or well-being advice exactly, I’m mostly just curious. When I drink more than like, 1.5floz of vodka, I tend to wake up the next day with mild liver pain. Considerably greater quantities of wine, blackberry flavored brandy, peach schnapps, or my roommate’s Jim Beam do not cause this. I buy my vodka by the handle, and it’s taken me a while to get through this one, so it’s possible it’s just this vodka, but one tends to think of liver pain as being caused by the alcohol itself, so I’m not sure what might be going on here.
