A Kraken substitute?

Hey folks, I do enjoy my Kraken, however it has become a casualty of the trade war and is no longer available in my area. Are there any rum enjoyers who know a good substitute for that dark, spicy flavor?

I’ve tried Capt Morgan’s dark, it wasn’t doing it for me. Also, I tried some Dead Man’s Fingers, but it was way too sweet. There does not appear to be any other black rums currently on the shelves in Canada, so I’m not sure what to attempt next. Any ideas?
