Kids with strict parents, how did you take alcohol to parties

So I’m 16 and my mum is quite strict with alcohol (I’m going to quite a big party and she said I could only take three beers) but my dad, as far as I’m aware, is quite ok with me getting drunk. I know the host well and he said it was ok if I only brought a few as there would be lots there, I still feel a bit bad tho as I don’t want to drink too much of his. Did you ask an older sibling or friend to buy you some or did you convince your parents, if so how please.
