Embarrassed

I was drinking with my friends last night and I ended up blacking out and saying things I didn’t mean, nothing too bad, but I just don’t like that feeling of not remembering what happened and to find out that I said some mean things, especially things I didn’t mean because I was joking, is this a normal thing?
