Just turned 21 help me build a collection please

Hey all, happy to be legal and very excited to get into alcohol, safely. I already have a few different beers i like but im lost when it comes to liquors or liquers. I like whiskey, rum, and various liquers. What should i buy thatd be good both straight and/or for mixing? So far i only have a JD honey blend bottle.
