Fresh mandarin juice for tequila sunrise :P

I’m sure this isn’t groundbreaking. But if you enjoy tequila cocktails this is something I made last night that was pretty great.

Spring water, and a fresh squeezed mandarin (sweeter than oranges and a little less tart) along with some lunazul 100% de agave repasado (another customer at liquor store helped me choose this and its pretty great for a sub $60 bottle of tequila, 100x better than Cuervo)

I’m not a big drinker, and had never made myself fresh juice for a cocktail. But that’s the key, I had gotten pretty good quality juice, but it doesn’t compare to fresh.

As I said, not a big drinker, and rarely make cocktails as I’m young enough to enjoy a few shots and chase and be fine with my stomach. But WOW one of you guys reccomended fresh juice for a cocktail and it was 100% worth it.

Thanks to this sub, I’d have never thought about fresh vs store bought and that was the 🔑.

If anyone else “doesn’t like OJ cocktails” like I thought I did, or if you like them from the bar but can’t tell what your doing “wrong”, it’s probably the fresh juice.

High quality grenadine would be better, but I used your basic store bought stuff with pomegranate concentrate, and I thought that’s why I didn’t like the cocktails I made at home, but it’s really just the juice itself.

Figured I’d thank the sub for making me a “higher quality” drink, I’d probably still be on ginger ale without the sub haha.
