Sudden intolerance to alcohol

This past week I (38/F) suddenly seemed to have lost my ability to drink. I don’t drink that much anymore, but still like an occasional drinking session in a social context. Last weekend I went out with a friend and had 2 beers and had a pounding headache. I thought I hadn’t drank enough water. This wknd I met up with another friend and drank a bunch of water before, had a liquid iv drink, and then drank a couple of glasses of water while drinking. But what happened is that instead of feeling buzzed I started to have a headache while I was drinking. The headache persisted the whole night and now into the morning. I’m also having some diarrhea like I would have if I binge drank.

It’s like my liver completely stopped working. Could this be associated with another medical issue? I tolerated alcohol in larger quantities just fine a couple months ago. This does feel pretty sudden.
