How to avoid alcoholism

I recently turned 21 (live in U.S) I decided to buy some tequila to celebrate. I really enjoyed alcohol and would love to try more (I recently got a bottle of Sambuca and my god so delicious) but I don’t want to accidentally slip into alcoholism. I know myself and family history, we have really addicting personalities. Why are some like things to avoid and etc. Thank you
