Why my heartburn stops when I drink alcohol?

It seems so weird it should be the opposite, I suffer of heartburn often, almost everyday, (ig it’s the right word, I’m French sorry, yk when your oesophagus burns) but when I drink alcohol, most of the time vodka, it stops instantly? Doesn’t it a paradox? If someone knows why alcohol can do that I’d be thankful! And I apologize if I’m not in the right sub! Thanks!
