Diplomatico rum

So I was given a bottle of this then found a few bottles in a discount shop. The people who gave me the bottle raved about how good it was. Most of the reviews are raving about how good this rum is.

It tastes like petrol to me. It is absolutely foul. I’ve tried mixing it but that after taste is still there. I cracked into my bottle of Jamaican Lion rum to see if it was me but that was lovely and what I imagined this rum was going to be.

I like rum and I’ve tried several from small distilleries but this was horrible. Please tell me it wasn’t just me.
