terzepatide removed all the my alcohol cravings
ALWAYS SEEK ADVICE FROM YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY MEDICATION!
INB4 “you shouldnt be taking ozempic style drugs blah blah” i dont really care.
have been curious about ozempic/wegovy/terzepatide etc for a while now and thought id give it a go just to see what its actually like because i was actually pretty interested in seeing if all these claims were true. im relatively fit, slightly overweight range, and drink and eat too much but exercise regularly to keep myself stable. ordered the lowest dose (2.5mg/ml) . Aside from the reduced appetite, one thing i realised is that it completely got rid of my desire to drink alcohol. like I have a collection of spirits and beers in the house at all times, and after 1 beer i opened another and ended up pouring it out because I just didnt want it. Just thought id share my experience. Im sure people who struggle with alcohol may like to hear about this sort of thing, might help get through those first weeks, but again, check with your doctor. Did the month course and havent taken anymore, and have noticed my cravings coming back now, but just an interesting personal side effect of the drug that might make quitting easier for long term users.
Edit: I guess i would describe it as, if you had just eaten a big meal and felt really full, you probably wouldnt want to crack open a beer, or at least would be less inclined. thats kinda how it feels. I usually drink 2-3 times a week, probably only heavily once a week (5+pints of strong beer) for reference. whilst taking it i think i drank properly once in the whole month because other times i just didnt want to
