Allergic to Alcohol(Super rare)

I really need help with this one. My girlfriend recently became allergic to alcohol. We’ve been together for 5 years, we’ve been drunk many many times and probably more than anyone should be. This February, after we drank around half a bottle of vodka each(500ml/16oz each at 40%) and a lot(2 litres each?) of beer we made ourselves(marula beer-4%).

I was fine but she woke up the next morning and her arm and legs were numb. We thought she had a stroke, we took her to the doctors and they did many tests and eventually said that nothing happened but she’s probably allergic to alcohol. That her immune system attacks her nervous system when she drinks, they gave her prednisone and it made her feel better. Since then she drank a glass of wine and felt awful again, had to go to the doctor for the same medicine, which made her feel better again.

Does anyone know what you call this condition? Can she get better? I do suppose asking the doctor would be smart but that’s not really possible and I can’t find anything on google. Really sucks to not be able to drink anymore, I don’t enjoy drinking alone and we do basically everything together
