completely drunk to completely sober in 10 mins
Apologies if this is the wrong sub.
I was out with some friends tonight and I drank a little more than usual. This is a throwaway account but for reference I’m 26f and a fairly regular casual drinker – a heavy night would be 6 pints of beer.
I started feeling really awful, and had to start clearing the bench next to me to lie down. I thought I would throw up, or pass out. I lay down mid conversation because I didn’t think I had the time or energy to explain before I’d certainly pass out.
This was 1 hour ago. Almost immediately my friend called an Uber, and as I got in I felt fully sober. I have been able to coherently text my friends to apologize, hold up a conversation with the driver, and cook a meal when I got home.
I just feel really jarred by the fact that I could change that quickly. I wasn’t talking about anything particularly stressful, although I have been very stressed of late. I didn’t drink any more than I would on a heavy evening (4 pints of beer and 1 vodka soda), and I’ve drunk a lot more than this and I’ve never had this kind of reaction (and subsequent un-reaction).
I just feel very strange about the fact that I could go from the verge of passing out to completely sober within 10 mins. Is there anything else this could be?
