How to get alcohol down?

I’ve never really been a drinker, more of a smoker. Last night I tried and it sucked the alc tasted like straight up hand sanitizer, it burned I couldn’t take more than 2 shots. I don’t got any mixers. I want to try again tonight, I don’t have any mixers on hand or anything. Any tips getting it down?
