How come red wine makes me more drunk?

If I drink the equivalent amount of vodka in terms of alcohol I get less intoxicated. Could this be because red wine contains other psychoactive compounds that enhance its effects? Like a higher methanol concentration or other things. I also notice that cider gets me less drunk than beer. Could there be reasons for this?
