Review: High Camp Firelight Flask 2.0

High Camp keeps cranking out the fancy flasks, and as long as they do, we’ll keep on covering them.

The new Firelight Flask is similar to the last High Camp flask we reviewed, the Parkside Flask. Both hold 750ml of liquid and include two tumblers that adhere magnetically to the top and bottom of the upright unit. It’s an update over the older Firelight Flask model — which we reviewed in its half-size rendition — with the inclusion of a few thoughtful updates.

For starters, the tumblers are now vacuum insulated much like the flask itself, helping to keep drinks cold and hands warm. The mouth to the flask is wider, so it’s easier to get ice inside — but not overly fat. You’ll still need to rely on relatively slender cubes instead of your big cocktail rocks. The cap itself is now textured to make it easier to open; no more fumbling with the smooth metal as seen on the previous edition. And lastly, there’s one additional color option — black onyx — in addition to the other three metallic tones.

Our opinion of the flask remains the same: It looks great, it works great, and you can get a whole bottle of wine (or whatnot) into it, ensuring it stays cool for the whole day. While I like the more colorful look and streamlined feel of the Parkside a little better, that’s really just a matter of personal preference. Both flasks work almost identically, raising the bar on your next tailgate, picnic, or boat outing. Just come prepared with your wallet!
