can someone explain why me being alcoholic is bad?

i drink five 8.5% ciders and a few gin and tonics a day my doctor says im an alcoholic , my mental health issues are gone when i drink like completely gone i work effectivity my boss is happy with my work even got promoted this year my family all loves me and they are the type to just outright say if they don’t like you and i dont get into any issues. so why should i stop drinking
