Hello, I am an alcoholic who is addicted to isopropyl alcohol.
My alcoholism started off with drinking a 6 pack of beer a night, and it spiraled from there. Eventually I was downing either a case of beer or a fifth of vodka, every day.
I was wasted day in and day out.
Then, one fateful day, I thought about trying isopropyl alcohol. During my research, I discovered that it is about twice as toxic as ethanol, but that it’s more potent. My tolerance to ethanol was high, but despite that, the isopropyl got me fucked up very quickly. I started off by drinking half a bottle of 50% isopropyl alcohol a night.
That was 2 years ago. I now drink 2 bottles of the 50% isopropyl per day. I know it’s killing me but it’s the only thing that works for me, isopropyl is much more potent than ethanol. I can barely get drunk on regular ethanol anymore, unless I drink a fifth of vodka in 3 hours or less.
Now, I’m still wasted day in and day out, but on a stronger, more toxic kind of alcohol.
I know I must quit if I want to live long, but the withdrawals from isopropyl are especially bad. I plan to start a taper with ethanol, I may need a lot of it to get drunk, but it does stop the shakes. If I’m unable to successfully taper, I will go and get medically detoxed.
Always be mindful of your consumption, and don’t ever try isopropyl alcohol. You may find it to be more addictive than normal alcohol, and it’s much more toxic. Be safe out there.
