Wood Spirits (random)

I’m going to go into a hypothetical, if not fantasy land topic, but..

I wonder what this planet would be like if there was two forms of potable alcohol, instead of just one..

I mean if Methanal and Methanoic acid had identical toxicity to Ethanal and Ethanoic acid,etc.. making Methanol another form of drinking alcohol, like Ethanol.

Obviously there would be competition whether Wood or Grain Alcohol was better.

I’m thinking outside the box in another universe here, but which variant would taste better and which would work better with which liquor..
