Alcohol induced heartburn and pepcid (Famotidine)

If i drank a lot of alcohol, can i take Pepcid (Famotidine) for getting rid of my alcohol induced heartburns ? I took tums to managed them, but i took more than the max daily dosage (took like 14 x 500 mg in the last 24hr), so i thought about buying some pepcid for managing my heartburns for the next hours (until i stop drinking). Is it safe to take pepcid if i drank high amount of alcohol ?
