First Time Drinking Heavy Amounts of Alcohol

Hi all,

So last week I was on a trip, and I decided it was a good idea to drink as much as I possibly could. Now, the most I’ve ever drank before was probably like 2 beers and 3 shots of gin. I had the usual hangover, but not anything bad.

Back to the trip. I started drinking on Tuesday, about 7 shots of jager. 2 at dinner and 5 at a bar. Next morning wasn’t bad to be fair. Wednesday was the big night. I attended an all you can drink event, and I started off with a glass of cognac. I was definitely already buzzed after this (it was my first drink). Through the night I probably had around 12+ shots, drinks consisted of cognac, old fashioned, manhattan, and a lot of jager). I went to sleep at around 4 AM, woke up at 730. Felt completely fine, but at around 6PM I felt extremely fatigued. Drank some water and walked it off. Felt fine after.

Unfortunately I went to a bar again later and had another 4 shots of jager and 2 of gin. And that’s where the story ends.

I had the usual hangover the next day. However, it’s been a week and I still have some brain fog and fatigue. I haven’t been sleeping too well to be fair, but because it has lasted so long I feel anxious that I fucked up my body somehow. I went to a clinic and they said all looks fine, but I still feel a bit weird and anxious about it.

Has anyone ever experienced week long effects of heavy drinking? Or do you guys think this is normal and should fade out with time?

Thanks if you read all this by the way!
