Input on Alcohol Options for Hot Summer Wedding
We’re having our wedding later this summer in the Pacific Northwest, east of the Cascade mountains. Temperatures might reach 80-90s during the daytime. There will be about 100 guests, and we have a limit of 8 distinct alcohol “labels” we can provide, but are able to purchase all the alcohol ourselves. We do have quite a few guests who enjoy hard cider, so we’re planning on doing 2 hard ciders, 1 red wine, 2 white wines, 1 sparkling wine, and 2 beers. The list we have selected is:
Wines:
Famille Perrin Réserve Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge
La Bellevie des Bois Blanc
Broadbent Vinho Verde
Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Cava
Beers:
Fremont Brewing: Summer Pale Ale
Fremont Brewing: Golden Pilsner
Cider
Schilling Cider: Local Legend
Incline Cider: Prickly Pear
Hoping for some input, especially around the beers – we’ve gotten feedback from a family member that we should replace the pale ale with an IPA, and do a darker beer instead of the Pilsner. We’re both not huge beer drinkers ourselves, and are aiming to provide options that will please the most number of people. Is a pale ale hoppy enough to please the IPA drinkers? We were thinking a pale ale over IPA given the lower alcohol content with the heat. Also open to other input regarding the alcohol list collectively. Thanks!
