Life would be glorious if there was a magical “BAC dial”

I have seen this idea on Reddit before in a different sub and agreed with it. But I wanna expand on it and come up with a “realistic” implementation of such a device. Imagine if you had a dial with numbers on it. Or perhaps a keypad to input numbers, if you prefer. You would adjust it to a certain number, which would suddenly become your BAC and you’d feel that level of drunk. Set it to 02 for a 1 beer buzz, or set it to 20 and be wasted. Whatever you want, plus you can turn it back to zero at anytime, and there won’t be any hangover or liver damage as there was never actually any alcohol in your system, just the perceived feeling!

You can lock it at zero and have to unlock it with a key (to prevent accidentally turning it while driving or something). You can lock it at any value that’s 07 or less. At 08 and above, you cannot lock it, it will decrease automatically by 02 every hour (to mimic sobering up naturally) so you’d have to keep rotating it back to your desired number periodically. You can manually set a maximum value, so you don’t get drunk and reckless and decide to put it at like 60 and die. Changing the max limit requires manufacturer approval.

You could still drink alcohol, and it would still affect you exactly the same it does normally. You can order a breathalyzer for the dial, and if it detects any alcohol in your breath, it will lower the programmed maximum value accordingly. Your max value is 30? Your current BAC from real alcohol is .10, so now your dial only goes up to 20, because the numbers add together. This way you don’t get alcohol poisoning.

How does this device actually work though? It’s simple: ✨MAGIC✨ You could get a bunch of em for different drugs too, if you’d like.
