How much can I drink at my first party?

As stated, I’ll be going to my first party next week. I’ve never really drank before, so it will be my first time. From what I’ve read online, the advice is to stick with two beers for the first night (I’m 5’2, ~47kg), but I am curious to try at least one shot of something since everyone always complain about how vodka burns and so on. I don’t even know the taste! (also, advice on how to drink vodka/other “harder” drinks would be GREATLY appreciated. What are chasers??)

Anyways, I plan on taking one or two shots, then sticking with a beer. Ill do this all on a mostly full stomach. My goal is to get kind of buzzed, but not shitfaced because I need to get home.

Also, nervous in general so ANY advice from experienced party-goers would be wonderful!
