turned 21 and got humbled.

so it’s my 21st birthday today, and i went out to a bar to get my first drink! well i stupidly forgot you have to renew your license. like just complete idiocy on my part. so i hand my ID to the bartender and proceeded to get yelled at for trying to buy with an expired license. which to be fair i totally get it and didn’t wanna get anyone in trouble for serving someone with an expired license especially on one of the biggest drinking weekends of the year. so as soon as i was told i couldn’t be served i totally understood and was chill about it. i’m a server so i understand the laws with it and even more so should’ve known to renew my license but i just completely forgot. but the bartender wouldn’t give my ID back at first so i could leave and continued yelling at me and it was so embarrassing and humbling. i eventually got my ID back and immediately left. great start to turning 21!
