Why don’t I get drunk???

I recently turned the drinking age here and I was just wondering what’s wrong with me?? I decided to * actually * try drinking with a friend, we drank some strong vodka (according to my mother at least, idk anything about alcohol) and we drank the same amount, together half a bottle. I was doing relatively okay meanwhile she was having much trouble walking and so on, her mother just told me that she threw up everywhere and is in fact very very intensely drunk. I on the other hand had barely any difficulties walking and my head was just mildly fuzzy for 2 hours. Maybe I’m understanding something wrong here but I genuinely got curious. I couldn’t have developed an intolerance because as I mentioned earlier this was my first time. I had obviously tried it before but never more than a tiny sip once a year.
