2-3 9.9% ipas per night and thinking of quitting cold turkey, is it safe?

I’m 23 and I’ve been drinking almost basically every night for the past year or so. I used to day drink twice a week when I was 21 and used to drink a cup of jack daniels every night when I was 22. Last time I went a night without drinking was back in November of last year when I had a pretty nasty fever. I’m scared to quit cold turkey because I heard of how deadly the withdrawals are and I have trouble sleeping. Any advice?
