What does Absinthe taste like?

I only recently discovered about Absinthe, the green alcoholic beverage. I really want to try it, but first, I want to know what it tastes like. It is such a unique color, but I have no clue what it could even taste like. If you have tried it, what brand do you reccomend? Thanks.
