Coors Banquet (bottled)

I’ve been getting loads of ads for this, so I bit the bullet and got a 12 pack of 12Oz bottles. I would have gotten less if there were smaller packs at the store, oh well. It appears to me that Coors Banquet may be the original Coors, but that’s only an assumption from the “140 years” on the cap.

It’s definitely not the same taste or texture of Coors Light (bottled, can was extra bitter). Bitter sweet with mineral flavors is the overall description I give the taste, the texture is not as smooth as Coors Light, and I’m getting a salty aftertaste. With that said, I still prefer Coors Light especially since it is very smooth with a pleasant wheat grain taste being the primary reason I like it. Coors Banquet is more complex, but I feel it’s more refreshing. I’d still take Coors Banquet but not over Coors Light.

I don’t consider these my favorite beers. PBR is still a favorite, and I much prefer Stouts like Guinness or Fort George Cavatica. Cheap lagers like Coors and PBR are what I buy because they are cheap, and if I like them woohoo.

What do you all think of Coors Banquet? I personally give it a 6/10.
