First time drinking alcohol – went with vodka, threw it up immediately. What gives?

I am going to be 24 years old tomorrow, and celebrating alone this year, so I bought myself some vodka. I’ve never drank before.

Last night, I wanted to do a little trial run and so I poured myself half a cup and mixed it with 1/4th of a cup of whole milk and added some honey and cinnamon.

It was going great, sure it tasted really bad, but it was oddly comforting. But then, a few minutes after I finished the glass, I ended up running to the toilet and vomiting it all up. I drank it over the course of maybe 15-20 minutes.

What happened? Was my body just not used to it?
