Welp, my gin-rasberry-rhubarb thing now has silly name.
TL;DR It’s now called a wago-wago.
I first made the drink when I visited my dad because I got in the mood for a pre-dinner drink. He had rasberry-rhubarb cordial in the fridge, and I thought it would be good with gin, so I mixed the two and added a Sparkling water, and to nobody’s surprise it was delicious.
Fast forward to a dinner with friends where I brought gin and the same cordial for some pre-dinner drinks. Everyone wanted one, although some wanted it with less or no gin.
I mentioned that the drink didn’t really have a name, and Jolene(not her real name) has apparently been obsessed with a clip of a cartoon where someone call a walkman a wago-wago, so she names the drink that. I found the name stupid at first, but it has grown on me, and now I think it’s just a bit silly.
There are weirder names for drinks. Like naming a drink after a tool.
