Alcohol’s a cure for the common cold?

I had the cold last weekend but still decided to drink anyways. After my 9th shot, I noticed most of my symptoms were alleviated. Whats even better is that my cold was almost gone the next day. Maybe the alcohol killed off the virus in my throat? Anyone else had a similar experience?
