Masking beer smell from breathe

So, long story short wife does not let me drink any beer, I’m not even allowed to have 1. Today I met up with a friend I haven’t seen in awhile, and we ended up going to a bar. I had 4 beers. I chewed some gum on the drive home and I managed to make a meal that consisted of garlic, green onion, chili, and cilantro when I got home. Even with all of that, still my wife was able to smell the alcohol on my breathe. Now I’m in the doghouse. Is there any way to get rid of that beer smell besides time?
