Why does alcohol make me happy but benzos don’t? Your take?

Hey guys I’m a 33 year old male with depression, anxiety and OCD and I have tried pharma meds like ssris and benzos and I’ve tried a few “street” substances like weed, mushrooms, alcohol, Vyvanse. My question is that why does alcohol make me more happy and want to listen to music more a talk when benzos Like Ativan or xanax just make me a zombie. They both work on gaba receptors but I also know alcohol has an effect on other neurotransmitters like dopamine and possibly serotonin. I’m not a daily drinker but curious on your opinion on why this is and your experience and also if you have found anything like a good antidepressant or something for treatment resistant depression and anxiety?
