Hives after drinking?

I’m not a big alcohol user, and in fact, didn’t really start regularly using until half way into the year. I mostly drink soju and for the times I drink soju I didn’t get hives however, being your typical college student, I’ve been at frats/dorm parties and they’re mostly vodka. Usually 3 hours after drinking id get hives on my arm, inner thighs, and feet, but I haven’t felt my throat close or any other symptoms. Any medicine to take before drinking to alleviate the symptoms?
