Sipping gin?

Most of the time I hear about gin being mixed with other stuff. But the thing is I’ve found I actually really like the taste of straight gin. My family’s Ukrainian so I’ve done a lot of vodka shots at dinner, but I’ve found that gin is basically like vodka only with some taste.

I’ve never seen someone just sip gin in the same way someone would sip rum or whisky. Is there a reason for this? Would it be strange to just see someone sipping a glass of gin on its own?
