Beginners sipping alcohol?

I don’t like the taste of alcohol to an extent. At least alone, usually. I do like mixed drinks. I also like Rumchata. I was wondering what a good sipping alcohol is? I want a casual drink here and there without cringing every time I sip. Any tips or ideas? I’m not much of a drinker so I’m kind of clueless. 35 and this is my real foray into alcohol lol.
