Is it normal to go to a bar crawl by yourself?

Is it normal to go to a bar crawl by yourself? I am a 24 year old black female. My friend who said she was going is no longer going. I already bought my ticket and cannot get a refund. I am planning on going by myself, getting the t-shirt & gift bag included with the ticket, and getting at least one discounted drink. Is there any advice for making new friends so I can stay longer or for safety?
