do you always get euphoric when drunk?

I’ve heard of a gene that influences how people react to alcohol, they say 8% of the population only gets euphoric while under the influence, no matter how they were feeling before. A lot of people say alcohol accentuates your mood and how you feel, so if they were sad, at the end of the night they’d still be sad. Now I’m curious, because I’ve drunk when I was sad, anxious, angry, but it always makes me feel extremely happy and relaxed till the end of the night. Do you know anything about this gene, if it’s something real? (never seen it before)
