Adonis Spritz: A Low-Proof Winter Spritz

Spritzes seem made for summer, but this mashup with a classic sherry cocktail manages to winterize the sparkling drink. “This spritz is the marriage of two beloved classics, a stirred sherry and vermouth cocktail named Adonis, and a classic Italian spritz,” says Bethany Heinze, co-owner and beverage director at Vern’s in Charleston. “Cappelletti is wine-based and has the cherry, herbal notes of vermouth, so I built a minimalist recipe that highlights the nutty sherry and bitter aperitif. It’s simple in execution, but tastes complex.”
